A respected Jewish educator here in Seattle has a daughter living in
St. Petersburg, Russia, whom she will be visiting in a few weeks. Her
daughter's family attends the Reform congregation there, which has a
foreign-trained, Russian-born rabbi and director of education. This
Seattle educator has asked me to recommend books available in Russian
on Jewish topics for ages 1 to 12 years, whether fiction or
non-fiction, she might be able to track down and provide for the
temple school.

My knowledge in this area is limited (non-existent, actually) so
naturally, I'm turning to you for help. She would welcome titles
about Judaism and Jewish people, whether non-fiction, fact, or
folklore. Are there Bible stories in Russian appropriate for a Jewish
school? Guides to celebration? Board books? All suggestions would be
welcome. And although she didn't ask me about this, should any of you
have actual books, appropriate donations in good shape you'd be
willing to send to Seattle for her to take or send, we can discuss
the cost of shipping. I think this is a good cause to support.

She's going well before convention so I'd appreciate hearing from you
soon. Thanks in advance.
