Shalom Safranim,
It sounds like everybody had a wonderful time in Arizona!
The school year is starting for us in August and I have some questions
about running a Jewish day school (pre-school-sixth grade) library.
We have around 150 to 200 students who will use the library and about
15,000 books in our collection (according to the current librarian that I will
be replacing soon). But the budget we have now is $100 because we
spend most of it
on our catalog. There is a $300 credit with Scholastic Books. But I
don't think that will buy us that much either for the library.
Here are my questions that I hope you can answer soon.
1. How do other Jewish day school libraries go about fundraising or
grant writing for their libraries?
2. For the people involved with the "One Book, One School" program
through Nextbook and RAVSAK, which book are you picking for your day
school out of the list and why? I am also curious to see who from
this list is going to be in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the
convention.
Thanks!
