Dear Friends,

Today was my last day as the librarian at Beth David Synagogue and
B'nai Shalom Day School in Greensboro, North Carolina. It has been a
great joy to build the library here and watch it grow these past
eleven years. I have loved learning about Jewish literature, history
and culture. When you learn about Judaism, you are learning about the world.

The Association of Jewish Libraries and the Hasafran community have
been a great help to me. I always enjoyed seeing postings on Hasafran
and reading book reviews in the AJL newsletter by Susan Dubin, Ellen
Cole, Linda Silverman and all the other new friends I made at the
conference I attended in Los Angeles a few years ago.

Now, I am moving on to a new challenge. This fall I will be the
library media specialist at Madison Elementary School in
Mcleansville, NC, in the public school system here.

I will check in at the AJL site occasionally (especially to see what
the book clubs are reading) and make sure my new school has plenty of
Sydney Taylor Award books!

All the best,
Carolyn Burke
