My husband and I have made the very difficult decision to relocate to Chicago. Mike received an incredible job offer and the chance to be close to my family was something that we just couldn't pass up. My last day at Temple Israel will be November 7. I will be starting a new job as the Preschool Liaison Librarian at the Des Plaines (IL) Public Library on November 19. It is extremely difficult for me to give up this dream job that I have had for the last 10 years and to leave all of my wonderful colleagues and friends, but I am confident that this is the best thing for our family and our future.
Below is the job posting for the position of Director of the Libraries & Media Center at Temple Israel. If anyone is interested in one of the best synagogue library jobs in the country, please submit your resume. Im happy to speak with anyone about the position, Temple Israel, and the Detroit Jewish community. I feel a tremendous debt of gratitude for the opportunities that AJL has provided me towards personal and professional growth. Even though I will no longer be working in a Jewish library I do plan to continue my involvement in AJL and of course in the Sydney Taylor Book Award Committee. And, I will see you all at the AJL Convention in Cleveland! Thank you all for your continued support and friendship!
