Colleagues:
While this topic is raised frequently, I know as a computer scientist that
software changes very rapidly. Therefore, I would be most grateful for OFF
LINE replies to the following query by a colleague who wants to upgrade the
software on her computer in the religious school of which she is Director
and, at the same, time, on her home computer.

If there is sufficient interest, I will publish a summary in ten days.
Meanwhile, here is her query.

1. I need to buy Hebrew software for my home computer and laptop.
2. I want a program for writing/ using Hebrew; nothing fancy, just
basic letters & vowels so I can make worksheets, flashcards, curriculum
materials.
3. The school has an old version of DavkaWriter. It has some vowels but
has to be copied backwards and, most problematic, doesn't "read" in
attachments.
4. Currently I cut from "symbols" in a WordPerfect program to paste
into Davka. It works just fine but doesn't have vowels.
5. What do you suggest to upgrade both home and school computers?
a. Upgrade Davka?
b. Choose another word processing program. If so, which?
c. Other?
