Dear colleagues:

Does anyone know of a source for audio books on CD (preferred over
downloads) that are of the Torah (English translations), and/or modern
commentaries, and other sacred works that would be appropriate for our
Reform synagogue library? We're working on building our overall synagogue
resources for people with various disabilities, and I'd like to add some
appropriate audio materials. I can find other fiction and other more
topical non-fiction in audio, but haven't really hit on a good source for
sacred works that isn't Torah chanting.

I've looked at ArtScroll, but what I'm looking for, in a perfect world,
would be an unabridged reading of URJ Press' Torah: A Modern Commentary (or
the like). I am aware of the lending services of JBI International (Jewish
Braille Institute), as well as our own state library services for the blind,
but again, in a perfect world, we'd like some things to purchase. Any ideas
for items we can purchase for our collection? Please email me off-list, and
I can compile responses and post back.

Todah rabah!

Ginny Heinrich
