Many libraries, especially public libraries, choose to catalog all of their graphic novels under the one Dewey number (if they use Dewey): 741.5. However, other libraries, especially smaller ones such as synagogues or schools, like to catalog graphic novels by subject: as fiction if they are fiction, under 940.53 if they are about the Holocaust, etc.
