In order to encourage students to train for and enter the field of Judaic Librarianship, the Long Island Association of Jewish Libraries is proud to announce a Scholarship of $500 to a student enrolled or accepted in a graduate school of library and information science and presently residing in Nassau or Suffolk County (New York). Prospective candidates should have knowledge of, and an interest in, Jewish Studies and demonstrate the potential, ability, and intention of pursuing a career in Judaic Librarianship. ELIGIBILITY Proof of acceptance for the next academic year or proof of current enrollment in an ALA accredited library school in the United States. Preference will be given to students enrolled in a graduate library school in the New York metro area. Two letters of recommendation. Please submit a short statement (200/300 words) highlighting the extent of your participation in Judaic Studies and other relevant experiences. Relate how you feel your involvement in such activities might be reflected in your future career in library or information science.
