The Time Tunnel series, by Galila Ron-Feder-Amit. Vol. 1 : Jerusalem Under Siege, and Vol. 2: The Dreyfus Affair, have just been translated into English. I was fortunate to attend a reception for Galila at my own shul's religious school. She is delightful, great with kids, and has wonderful stories to tell.
