Hello. The Resarch Libraries, Archives and Special Collections Division of AJL has created a new committee -- the RAS Digitization Committee. The major goal of the committee is to gather and make available information about current and planned digitization projects in all areas of Judaica. The committee will also seek information about available funding. Another important goal is to facilitate and encourage cooperative projects and cooperative grant proposals.
The initial meeting of the committee is scheduled for 4PM on Sunday June 22 at the Cleveland convention. All those interested in digitization issues are invited to attend. I will serve as temporary chair, until a permanent chair can be appointed (hopefully by the end of the convention). If you are interested in being a committee member or the chair, please contact me.
