Hi All- This is to strongly encourage Committee Chairs and Officers to attend the Newcomers Orientation at the upcoming Cleveland Conference -- Sunday from 4-5 pm -- and say a few words about your committee/functional area and your own background in involvement in AJL. This is not only a great way to help newcomers feel welcome, and to orient them into the activities of AJL, but is a first step in getting them involved as a future committee member, and possibly a future officer themselves! Please let me know (offlist) if you'll be able to attend, so that I can gaugue how to apportion time. And for those reading this email who will be attending AJL for the first time -- please do come.
