As many of you may remember, Nancy Sack, Rachel Simon and I started a tradition of raising money for "Mazon: A Jewish Response to Hunger" (http://www.mazon.org/) at AJL in Cambridge, and continued to do it successfully in Scottsdale (Convention participants actually doubled their contributions that year). We hope we can do the same this year in Cleveland. What contributed to our shared success was the fact that we announced our intentions in advance and most of you came prepared with your checkbooks when the time came. So here is an even more advanced heads up: We will be appealing to your generosity once again in Cleveland, and will make the rounds at Tuesdays banquet. MAZON envelops will be available at each table and we are even contemplating a prize for the table that raises the most $$$ J Although this is NOT an official AJL fundraising drive the support we received from the organizing committees and AJL officials was and is inspiring, and we are grateful for the opportunity to engage in this mitzvah.
