I took the Light Rail to and from the airport, connecting via a bus that stopped across the street from hotel.
Okay, if LC paid for it, I would probably have prefered a taxi (or for that matter, if LC paid even half of the cost of conference participation). And, when I'm not paying tuition maybe I'll splurge a bit more. However conference organizers have to be sympathethic for those for whom eating out probably means bring a MRE, and for whom the choice is going to conferences or educating kids, and those librarians whose libraries do not cover the costs of conferences and don't have other incomes to rely on (and this is a criticism of all library conferneces, not just AJL, though it is interesting that AALL, whose members are perhaps the best paid librarians, took access to public transit into account at their conference).
