In her latest book, The Path to Paradise: The Inner World of Suicide
Bombers and Their Dispatchers, Dr. Berko unearths the world of female
Palestinian suicide bombers and the men who dispatch them on their
mission.  Dr. Berko holds a Ph.D. in Criminology from Bar-Ilan
University and is currently the visiting Schusterman Professor at the
George Washington University.  A research fellow at the International
Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) at the Interdisciplinary Center
in Herzliya. Israel, she also lectures at the Center's Lauder School
of Government, Diplomacy and Security. Dr. Berko, a retired
lieutenant-colonel in the Israel Defence Forces, is a member of
Israel's Counter-Terrorism Team and Israel's National Security
Council.
