Emily Goldberg posted a request recently: I am a member of a congregation that is starting to develop a program focused on Bikur Cholim. I am wondering if there is a bibliography available related to this subject and further, if it is organized according to age interest and appropriateness. With regard to the latter, are there books that would be useful for tots, young children and teens, respectively?
(A librarian friend suggested this listserve to me for this inquiry. If there are other resources, please advise.) I am fwding the information she was seeking from our Assistant Director at the Kalsman Institute on Judaism and Health, Julie Pelc. See below Dr. Yaffa Weisman Library Director The Frances-Henry Library HUC-JIR, Los Angeles 213-765-2170 www.huc.edu/libraries/la Yaffa, You can recommend that Emily look on the Kalsman website under "resources" for a list of books we recommend... plus these links to our website, too. http://www.huc.edu/kalsman/IllnessWellness/resources/ http://www.huc.edu/kalsman/SpiritualityHealing/resources/ http://www.huc.edu/kalsman/writings/ http://www.huc.edu/kalsman/writings/publications/ http://www.huc.edu/kalsman/expressions/writings/ And we can also refer her to an excellent local bibliotherapist for additional youth resources: Claire L.
