The review of the Encyclopedia of Race and Racism which appeared in the March 2009 issue fails to make mention of the controversy it has evoked. It is worth noting that, in response to concerns expressed by members of the Association of Jewish Libraries regarding the inclusion of a tendentious article on Zionism, in a statement released November 10, 2008, which can be found at http://www.gale.cengage.com/encyMessage.htm, the publisher, Gale, apologized "to those who believe that we failed... to live up to our high standards to publish a fair and balanced account," and, agreed to "Work with well respected scholars" "to commission a series of articles for the online edition," which would address the objections raised in order "to engage perspectives other than those given in the current article."
