Another series of books with insight into Jewish life- and Jewish/Christian relations in Medieval Europe (mostly France but also England and Scotland) is a series of books by Sharan Newman - The Catherine LeVendeur series. Currently there are 9 books in the series. The author is a series historian and has written non-fiction historical works as well. I recommend them highly. They also do not have the salacious details that bothered Melinda in the Rashi's Daughters series.
