I hope that many of you will be participating in Library Snapshot
Day, our advocacy campaign, by choosing any day between now and
mid-November to take a "snapshot" of your library's activities! As
we've described before, on your chosen day we'd like you to get a
headcount of library users, gather comments and feedback, and take pictures.

The question has been raised about whether we need permission to use
photos of patrons, especially children. If you are able to get
permission for AJL to use your photos in our newsletter or on our
website and blog, that would be wonderful! If your patrons prefer
that their photos not be published, that's fine too – we'd still be
interested in receiving them as internal evidence of the success of
Library Snapshot Day even if we can't share them. And of course, any
pictures you take would make a wonderful library display or local
advocacy tool for you at your home base. So in summary, please take
pictures no matter what! And when you send them to
[email protected], please let us know whether or not it's all
right to use the photos in the AJL Newsletter or on the website and blog.

Thanks, everyone! Looking forward to a wonderful Library Snapshot Day!
