Lovesong, by Julius Lester, is an autobiography for adults about a black man who discovers his Jewish roots.
There is also a children's history book whose name escapes me about a Jewish girl who is rescued from a shipwreck by Americans who decide to settle her with the Gullahs, who are free blacks, because she is not "white." If anyone can tell me the name of the book, I'd appreciate it.
