Head Librarian. Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion seeks applications for the position of Librarian of The Klau Library, New York. The College-Institute seeks an experienced, innovative and dynamic leader to administer and develop the Klau Library, and to ascertain and meet curricular research and reference requirements through collaboration with faculty, students and administration. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, budget management, collection development, creation of original cataloging, and to provide reference and research assistance. Will work with other departments to develop assessment methods, a long-term sustainability plan, and long-term strategies for preservation of Library resources.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Library Science; Master's degree in Jewish Studies or a related field, or its equivalent; and three to five years of supervisory experience, preferably in an academic setting. Current in knowledge of library and information technology. The position reports to the National Director of Libraries and the Dean of the NY campus. Curriculum vitae should be sent to Dr. David J.
