Safranim, ???? Thank you to all of you who responded to my message regarding the nature of the relationship between synagogue librarians and their Religious School/programming committees.? I received a number of responses, and I am still trying to process all the information that I received.? Several people offered to have me call or contact them further to discuss this, and I am very touched by the extent people were willing to go to help me.? I will be contacting everyone individually within the next week. In the meantime, I will be speaking with my synagogue's VP of Education (who is the Board member that I report to as Library Director).? I plan to present her with a summary of the information I received and discuss it with her.? We've had a number of staff changes in the last 1-2 years, mostly to people who are at least a generation younger than me (I'm in my mid-50's). Lately I've been feeling that my input, which had been perceived as helpful in the past,?is now being perceived as either intrusive, or not "up-to-date" or "pc" enough. ???? Hopefully my VP Ed and I can use all the information and examples I was given to help educate our newcomers that I've just been doing the job I was hired to do, and that I am there to serve and assist them.? Over time hopefully I can help expand their horizons a bit. And hopefully for my part I'm not so calcified that I can't my own horizons a bit, as well. ???? ??????????????
