We will be offering a panel session at the convention about E-books. Some companies are offering e-book purchases (like, Follett) one book at a time instead of the whole (expensive) subscription model like Overdrive is offering. I think this will become the standard.
Lisa Silverman Library Director Sinai Temple Blumenthal Library 10400 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90024 310-481-3215 ________________________________ From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Rachel Haus Sent: Tuesday, January 17, 2012 7:49 AM To: Hasafran Subject: [ha-Safran] Wading into the e-universe Dear Hasafranim, More and more of my patrons now have Kindles, Nooks, etc and now, even in our small town, the public library has announced "e-lending". I've read a couple postings on this issue, but they were from a while back. I've just been reading about OverDrive and Judaic Digital Library, though I have yet to investigate prices. I can only imagine they are beyond the budget of our 4000 volume library. Yet, I wonder if there is an affordable alternative. Thanks, Rachel Haus Library Director Congregation of Moses Library Kalamazoo MI [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>
