On one of her dust jackets, she boasts of a reward she received from MPAC,
which authorities acknowledge to be a Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated group.
I have found her to be very naive, no historian. For that, I'd say
(again) stick with Bernard Lewis or Ephraim Karsh--also a fine historian of
Islam.
I think Lewis' The Crisis of Islam is top notch, and also, comparatively
short--less than 200 pages.
