Shear nonsense. BTW, all baptized Jews in Spain were formally called conversos and informally marranos, i.e. pigs. Many of them did it sincerely and even more became supper-devout Catholics. Only a very small portion continued to think of themselves as Jews practice some of the Jewish rites and we call them normally crypto-Jews.**** ** ** The earliest clear identification of what we call Star of David with the Jewish people is from mid-16th century Eastern Europe; it was used as on a banner identifying Jews among other ethnic minorities…**** ** ** Given the wide-spread association of six-pointed star with the royal houses of Crimea (Tatars) and Caucuses (Armenians) going back the first millennium (and only late use of it in Cabbala), one gets the idea that the symbol was brought to Black Sea by Jews and was adopted by Khazars. When Khazaria was destroyed Jews continued its usage as did Crimean Tatars for who it was a symbol of their inherited legitimacy to rule over Russia. **** ** ** Many conversos ended up in horrible situation as a result of their betrayal of the Jewish people. Thousands of them ended as burning spectacles for Spanish Catholic mobs for much less than having zig-zag necklace… something that they would have been absolutely terrified to put on.**** ** ** Alex**** **
