Project Manager

The Rothschild Foundation (Hanadiv) seeks a project manager for Yerusha, a
pan-European survey of Jewish documentary material. The project manager will be
responsible for the development of a web portal bringing together the results
of the survey. The post will involve some travel, and the successful applicant
should be able to act as the project's representative to relevant institutions
and organisations within Europe. At present, the survey project is not
restricted to traditional archives, so a flexible, creative approach to the
post's challenges is essential. A willingness to engage in shaping the project
is also essential.

A candidate should possess the following:

Professional Experience

* 10-15 years working experience within archives and/or Jewish Studies.
* Track record of successful project management within archives or
digital humanities
* Working knowledge of database development
* Working knowledge of systems management

Academic Experience

* Advanced degree within archival science and/or Jewish Studies
* Familiarity with Jewish archival collections is preferred
* Working knowledge of Hebrew is preferred
* Knowledge of additional European languages is desirable

Personal Qualities

*       Ability to work independently
* Ability to engage strategically with the project
* Ability to deliver work to deadline
* Ability to generate support, confidence and enthusiasm for new
initiatives
* Ability to create and maintain a network of stakeholders

The successful candidate will report to the Chief Executive Officer of the
Rothschild Foundation (Hanadiv). S/he will be expected to provide quarterly
progress reports to the Yerusha steering committee, touching on the various
components of the project - network development, technical infrastructure,
editorial activity, survey data, and so on.

The post is part-time, 2.5-3 days/week, £30-40,000 pro rata.

Interested candidates should email [email protected]
