I've talked to some of our city's public librarians.There are some problems w/ 
ebooks and libraries. Check the waiting list for any popular title at your 
public library.  There are probably a hundred people ahead of you. Another 
thing: the library doesn't really "buy" the book (or the files, in this case).  
It pays an annual fee to be able to make them available for download to their 
patrons. And guess what, the publisher can decide to withdraw those files if it 
wants, and not renew the contract! But you've been paying for years? Too bad.  
I believe one of the publishers did just that recently, but I forget which 
one.EBSCO may be new in the field, and Susan will hopefully keep us informed if 
things are working differently than I thought.  Andrea
