Subject: [ha-Safran] AJL Silent Auction: Knitted things by me

Hey, there AJL campers. Hope everyone is enjoying the spring.

For the Silent Auction I have knit 3 items with yarn originally bought for a
sweater that I never got around to knitting. The yarn sat for 20 years on the
bottom of a wicker basket in a sealed bag so's that the bugs couldn't have
their way with it. When I saw the call for items in the AJL Silent Auction I
decided to put the yarn to good use.

The three articles were knit right here in Valencia (Spain) by myself while
sitting either in a variety of cafés at lunch time or in front of the computer
screen at the very very end of the day while watching videos. The brand of
yarn is: Lanas Stop "Lince" (discontinued as of some time ago), 51% Mohair, 49%
Acrilic, 1 2/3 ounces/142 yards (50g/130m) made in Logroño (Spain). The two
colours are pearly white-grey and charcoal-grey
· Pearl Grey lace cowl http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/L0308.html
Imagine this cowl in charcoal-grey. For the cowl, I watched all known versions
of Jane Austen's "Emma", "Julie and Julia" and "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the
Galaxy".
· Acadian Shawl/Scarf for Storytelling Time (...or as you like)
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/acadian-shawl Imagine this shawl/scarf
in charcoal-grey. For the Shawl, I watched seasons 1,2,3 of the "Big Bang
Theory" and season 3 of "Castle".
· Garden Trellis Fingerless Mitts
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/garden-trellis-mitts I made these mitts
longer than in the picture because I think they look cooler that way. They
almost come up to the elbow but not quite. For the mitts I watched BBCs "Rome",
first and second seasons.
I have ripped out and re-knit all the dropped stitches, errors, and blips.
However, I have no doubt that one or two remain which is the grand difference
between store-bought and something made by your mom.
