Due to overwhelming demand we have posted a new tentative convention
schedule to the AJL website. You now have information about meetings,
meals, and program sessions in one document. We have been working hard to
create an exciting program for you in Pasadena including e-book sessions
for both SSC and RAS and a session with Wyman Brent, founder of the Vilnius
Jewish Public Library.
Here are a few quick facts about Pasadena, home of the 2012 convention.
Pasadena is just north-east of the city of Los Angeles and is the ninth
largest city in Los Angeles County. The city is famed not only as the home
of the Tournament of Roses Parade, but also for historical estates that
belonged to captains of industry such as William Wrigley Jr., Anna Bissell
McCay , daughter of carpet sweeper magnate Melville Bissell, and the
Gamble House, home of David B. Gamble of Procter & Gamble. This month Los
Angeles Magazine called our hotel "The Grande Dame" and profiled it as one
of five outstanding Los Angeles staycations! "The leafy neighborhood,
century-old architecture, and verdant Horseshoe Garden of the
Langham-Huntington feel far from home. And no, those aren't the Himalayas:
they're the towering San Gabriel Mountains."
Be sure to register as soon as possible. We want to welcome you to Los
Angeles.
