1. One should remember that AJL is not the "association of Jewish
librarians" - the "J" refers to subject matter of the library, not the
librarians. Judaica librarians are not necessarily Jews (by any
definition).

2. Judaica libraries rarely pose a problem, even those for whom abstaining
from work on Shabbos is not part of their ideology. 

3. While public libraries in particular often have a problem accomodating
Sabbath observers, unless you are in an area where Sabbath observers are a
considerable part of the population of users, and of job applicants, it is
an issue of religious discrimination against any and all religious groups
that observe a sabbath, not anti-semitism.  Only in a place, such as
Brooklyn, where there are many users and job applicants who are affected,
might one consider if the real issue is prejudice - albeit more likely
from secular Jews rather than Christians.
