Hello everyone,
I would like to know some input regarding date due cards:
We are an elementary school library. We have always used date due cards. We
have volunteers who spend endless hours stamping dates onto hundreds of cards.
Our circulation period is for two weeks, yet we do not have the manpower to
stamp cards daily, as a result, often the cards do not reflect the correct due
date. Fortunately (or not) we notice hardly anyone even checks the cards at all.
I would like to either eliminate the cards, or find a way to manage them more
efficiently.
Does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives? What have you done
differently? How can we inform the parents and children of the correct due
dates?
Does anyone even use date due cards anymore?
Please keep in mind we are an elementary school where young children don't
always retain information, we need a system that is tangible, simple to
understand, easy to administer and accurate.
I look forward to your suggestions.
