If 'other materials' includes movies, I would recommend:
Orthodox Stance: a documentary about Dmitriy Salita, the Russian
immigrant, who is also Orthodox and a professional boxer.
Watermarks: also a documentary. About the Hakoah Vienna Jewish sports
club's women's swim team. The club was shut down after the Anschluss,
but all of the members of the team managed to escape. The women, now
in their 80s, talk about their experiences.
