Hi all:

I am looking for advice on a cataloguing question.

My synagogue library uses the Eleazar system. I was asked to
incorporate the synagogue's nursery school's books into this system.
For the Jewish themed books, there is no problem - I assign them the
Eleazar catalog number the books would have in the general synagogue
library. The problem arises with the non-Judaica books. Currently, the
nursery school shelves these books on shelves according to these
categories (which they would like to maintain): animals, concepts,
transportation and manufacturing, science and nature, the arts,
multi-cultural, human relations and community, fantasy and fun etc. Is
there a system that I could overlay on the Eleazar system with these
categories that wouldn't conflict with the Eleazar system?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
