Colleagues:

I catalog at the Sosnick Library, Temple B'nai Israel, Sacramento, CA.

I expressed my disappointment as a cataloger at the fact that the new
cataloging code, RDA (Resource Description & Access), clings to the
Christianity-centric way of expressing time, i.e. BC and AD, instead of
swapping to the religion-neutral BCE/CE. I was told that the RDA committee
considered going that way but decided the BCE/CE practice was still not
"common" enough to be adopted.

I've lodged a complaint with RDA Toolkit Help. It seems high time to me to
use terms that don't offend.
