Buzz, I know that the "C" in CE and BCE stands for the word "common."My point 
is that the BCE terminology still dates from--what event?  The"common 
era"--let's face it--begins with whose (supposed) year of birth?  So I don't 
think it's religion neutral at all; it's built around the birth of Jesus.

Common Era (CE)

The terminology here is entirely religion-neutral, which is why I think RDA
should make use of it. (My conspiratorial way of thinking inclines me to
think that maybe some fundamentalist Christians said no, but of course I
have no way of proving that. ;-))
