We have two Kindles at Beth Tfiloh.  I don't really see a danger that
students will download books on the school credit card, because you can
just disable the 1-Click setting on your school account.  If you do that,
nobody can go into the Kindle store (on the device) and just click "buy" --
you are prompted to enter a credit card.

What we have done, instead of pre-loading the Kindles, is to download
high-demand titles (so far it's been mainly classics that students are
reading in English class).  But I also intend to use the Kindles when we
need a book quickly for a class assignment.  You can order one copy and
"share" it with more than one Kindle.
