Shalom Hevre,

I just returned from a visit to Israel. I visited three libraries and met with librarians about their systems. I want to thank publicly the librarians at the National Library, Bar Ilan University, and the University of Haifa who met with me and took the time to discuss their work and show me around the libraries. They were very helpful and gracious. This is the kind of connection that is not possible at a convention, but because of HaSafran I felt I was meeting with old friends.

Whenever I visit libraries I learn that sometimes we have the same challenges and sometimes others have solved the problems that bother us. It is good to hear from an outsider so that librarians don't feel alone.

If you are ever in Chicago, please arrange to stop by for a visit.
