Hi Rita - You are not alone with your magazine problem! I keep magazines for about 6 months (never less, sometimes longer), and make it clear to the congregants - a sign on the magazine rack, a mention in my column in the Temple newsletter - that old issues are available to whoever wants them. Sometimes people are interested, sometimes not. I offer them to the religious school teachers, and I also offer them to our Temple pre-school, which takes some for the pictures for children to use in projects. Beyond that, you could call local Jewish nursing homes or group homes or similar facilities and see if they're interested. And finally: RECYCLE. Good luck.
