It is our pleasure to announce that the AJL/Capital Area Chapter (CAC) will be having our first program this year on October 14, 2012 at 2 pm in Barnes & Noble on Rockville Pike. Ann Brener, Reference Specialist for the Hebraic Section at the Library of Congress, a renowned scholar, author of several books will give a talk on Judah Halevi, the greatest Hebrew poet since biblical times. She recently presented a lecture "From Spanish Court to Ottoman Palace: Sixteenth Century Hebrew Books" at the Library of Congress. Ann Brener, Ph.D. in Hebrew Literature, Cornell University, was an Assistant Professor of Medieval Hebrew Poetry at Ben-Gurion University, Israel. Coffee with cookies will follow.
