I'm posting the following announcement on behalf of Stephanie Vevers and
the organizers of A Kholem/Dreaming in Yiddish - a tribute to Adrienne
Cooper that will take place Saturday night, December 22, in New York.
Some of you may have had the privilege of working with Adrienne, a gifted
Yiddish singer and educator who inspired people worldwide. Her untimely
passing last year at this time left a deep wound in the Yiddish cultural
world. Please see below for details about the tribute to her life and work.

Cooper - *Celebrating
the life and music of Adrienne Cooper and featuring major artists and
ensembles from the Yiddish and Klezmer international community.

More than 45 of the leading artists of the Yiddish music world will come
together to celebrate the life, music, and memory of the great singer,
teacher, feminist and activist, Adrienne Cooper (1946-2011).

The celebration will feature performances by New York's own The Klezmatics,
Eleanor Reissa, Zalmen Mlotek, Sarah Gordon, Michael Alpert, Basya
Schechter; international artists SoCalled, Shura Lipovsky, Psoy Korolenko,
Marilyn Lerner, Theresa Tova and Daniel Kahn; and authors Michael Wex,
Jenny Romaine, Jeffrey Shandler and Michael Cooper, and many more. Frank
London and Michael Winograd will lead an orchestra and chorus of literally
dozens of the finest klezmer musicians and Yiddish performers in this
star-studded tribute to Adrienne's life and career.
