This book is the first
comprehensive biography of Louis Marshall, a founder and long-time president of
AJC, and past-president of Temple Emanu-El, and examines his unparalleled
contributions in the fields of Jewish affairs, immigration advocacy,
American legal history, and civil liberties.  Professor Silver will
discuss Marshall’s unique role helping revise American foreign policy
toward Tsarist Russia, and with immigration before the 1920s.
The event will include a
digitized display of documents and images from AJC's and Temple Emanu-El's
archives.
