May I suggest* A War Within* by Carol Matas. Though written for a young adult audience it is about the Jews living in the south when they were expelled by General Grant. It would be suitable for an adult fiction book club and could elicit good discussions. The best part is that it is available on Amazon for $6.99! A non-fiction follow up would be Jonathan Sarna's excellent book *When Grant Expelled the Jews* but I don't think it is in paper back as yet.
