It seems most logical to talk to the librarians at Netanya Academic College.  Even within one university there can be multiple classifications.  The University of Illinois-Chicago uses LCC, while the Urbana campus uses Dewey.  Within one library one may use one classification for books and another for non-print.

Your question has many parts that need to be discussed locally.  Classification is only one part of the cataloging and organization of a library and its collections.
You may need an expert consultation to figure out the right questions before you can pursue the answers.

Subject: [ha-Safran] organizing a special library

I volunteer at Casa Shalom - Institute for Marrano (Anusim) Studies
http://casa-shalom.com/content/view/30/2/
The collection is organized by geographical area ie Spain with its corresponding history, fiction, personal accounts, genealogy, etc. Our geographical areas include anywhere that we have records of crypto-Jews - Mediterranean, Europe, South America....
Now that the library is part of Netanya Academic College, the collection needs to be catalogued in Dewey. Please send me suggestions of how to organize the collection. The Dewey nos.don't seem to correspond to the way we present the collection.

Thanks,
Tsipi
