Reference Services Internship Opportunities
The Center for Jewish History is seeking three interns for our Reference
Services Department, to assist in special projects, research, and reference
services. We seek applicants that are reliable, organized, detail oriented,
and comfortable interacting with the public. This is an excellent opportunity
for individuals looking for experience in special collections based research
and reference services. Background in Jewish history is welcome, but not a
requirement. While there is no monetary remuneration, we are happy to work
with Masters Programs to ensure credit for hours worked. Positions will be
approximately 120 hours over a semester, or 10 hours a week for 12 weeks.
Scheduling is flexible.

The Center for Jewish History is a research and cultural institution near
Chelsea and Union Square. It is home to five partner organizations-American
Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute,
Yeshiva University Museum and YIVO Institute for Jewish Research-whose
collections total more than 500,000 volumes and 100 million documents and
include thousands of pieces of artwork, textiles, ritual objects, recordings,
films and photographs. Taken as a whole, the collections span more than 600
years of history and comprise the largest repository of the modern Jewish
experience outside of Israel.
