With apologies for cross-posting. The Hebraica Libraries Group presents:
A practical e-forum for the creation and discussion of RDA catalogue records for Hebrew script languages. It's free and open to everyone! The forum will run from Thursday 23rd May to Thursday 11th July. Participants will be emailed one record to attempt each day (you don't have to do every single one) and discussion will take place via an email list. Free access to the online RDA Toolkit is available for those who do not already have access via their institution. The forum is organised by the Hebraica Libraries Group (UK and Ireland); the trainers will be Joan Biella from the Library of Congress and Heidi Lerner from Stanford University Libraries, both of whom have been cataloguing in RDA since 2010 when they both took part in the official US RDA Test. This is an exciting new opportunity for participants to try "hands on" cataloguing with RDA, then air questions, examine problem areas and discuss the various options and choices available in RDA with other Hebraica cataloguers. Anyone interested in RDA is invited to take part. Participants from all countries are welcome: as each record will be discussed over the course of 24 hours, time differences should not be a problem. For more information, or to register to take part, please email me off list: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>. If you need access to the RDA Toolkit, please let me know by *Thursday 16th May*.
