This workshop will present an overview of form-based Readers' Advisory—what
it is, its benefits, its key elements, and considerations for librarians who
wish to implement it. You'll learn how to implement form-based RA from start
(getting administrative and staff buy-in) to finish (building forms and
training staff members).

Workshop topics include:

  * The current state of Readers' Advisory services and what form-based RA is
  * Making the case to your library leaders
  * Crafting forms, and how to assemble and train your form-based RA team
Rebecca Howard is a Readers' Librarian and coordinates "Your Next Great Read".
She is a regular contributor to the blog Reading Addict, and develops and
supports Readers' Library programming. An ALA member, she also belongs to the
Social Responsibilities Roundtable and the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender
Roundtable.

Laura Raphael worked at the Tulsa City-County Library in a variety of jobs
including Associate Volunteer Coordinator before becoming Associate Librarian
in the Readers' Library department of the Central Library, a position she has
held since 2006. She has an M.A. in English Literature from Northeastern State
University.
