The Saul Lieberman Institute of Talmudic Research<http://www.jtsa.edu/Scholars_and_Research/Saul_Lieberman_Institute_for_Talmudic_Research.xml> The Jewish Theological Seminary of America [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> 7/8/2013 We are very pleased to announce that the Lieberman Institute's Index of References Dealing with Talmudic Literature is now available via internet at http://lieberman-index.org<http://lieberman-index.org/>. The Index encompasses the major canonical corpora of Talmudic literature: Mishna, Tosefta, Talmud Yerushalmi and the Babylonian Talmud (Midrash is in preparation). It refers to more than 1000 books from the Geonic to modern periods, covering both modern critical scholarship and traditional works. Moreover, the latest additions include references to significant studies in scholarly journals. A user consults the unit of Talmudic text (eg. Mishna Berakhot 1, 2; Talmud Bavli Rosh Ha-Shanah 27a etc, often indicating lemma), and receives a list of scholarly works with the specific page or note in which the given Talmudic text is discussed. A new feature of the internet version is direct links to some of the indexed books which are available on-line at Hebrewbooks.org. Thus, via the Index, a user may receive within seconds not only a relevant reference, but the very quotation itself. During over two decades of distribution by CD ROM, many scholars, hailing from various disciplines, have regularly used this revolutionary tool, making it indispensable to study and research. The Index is an ongoing project, and new works are added on a regular basis. Due to its new online platform, it is updated regularly. Registered users themselves will be able to add entries to the Index as well, gaining valuable exposure for their own scholarly works and those of their colleagues. A demo version can be viewed here: http://lieberman-index.org/. * Subscriptions can be acquired and payment made via the links below (500 = $500, etc.) Please paste on browser if links do not work (they should work after original entry through browser). An IP connection will be established within 24-48 hours. A program for individual subscriptions will soon be announced, operating by user name and password. * Small Institutions (up to 500 potential users)<http://commerce.cashnet.com/emkt?itemcode=emkt-li-500> / $500 https://commerce.cashnet.com/emkt?itemcode=emkt-LI-500 Medium Institutions (500-1000 potential users)<http://commerce.cashnet.com/emkt?itemcode=emkt-li-750> / $750 https://commerce.cashnet.com/emkt?itemcode=emkt-LI-750 * Large Institutions (more than 1000 potential users)<http://commerce.cashnet.com/emkt?itemcode=emkt-li-1000> / $ 1000 https://commerce.cashnet.com/emkt?itemcode=emkt-LI-1000 ["Potential users" are all persons who have email or library accounts through the server of that institution or have access to the internet services offered through it] Further inquiries can be made by e-mail: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> or [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> or by telephone 9722 (0)74 7800 630. database provided by the Lieberman Institute.
