Change can be difficult to deal with in any workplace, but the fast pace of
change in libraries is particularly difficult. Designed for library
supervisors who will need to lead staff (at any level) through change, learn
about the potential impact of the stress of change, and how to properly prepare
others and one's self for change.

On the Road to Information Literacy Success: Putting Students in the 'Drivers'
Seat<http://www.ala.org/acrl/informationliteracysuccess> (October 7-25, 2013)
This course will demonstrate how to use ACRL IL Standards, learning outcomes,
assessment strategies, and different teaching styles to support students in
defining their own journey to success. This course is relevant to instruction
librarians because it presents a variety of engaging and interactive activities
as well as opportunities to experience and create active learning strategies
for IL teaching.

Creating Accessible Video
Tutorials<http://www.ala.org/acrl/accessibletutorials> (October 14-November 1,
2013)
Learn about the types of accessibility needed for video tutorials, as well as
why accessible videos can benefit everyone. While other seminars and classes
have covered creating tutorials, accessibility is usually either not covered or
not covered in detail. Providing accessible tutorials benefits not only
individuals with disabilities, but also ESL learners and mobile users.

ACRL e-Learning Frequent Learner Program

ACRL created our e-Learning Frequent Learner Program to help academic and
research librarians maximize their professional development dollars during
these challenging economic times. Now, individuals or groups that register for
three ACRL e-Learning courses or Webcasts will receive complimentary
registration to one additional course or Webcast of equal or lesser value to
the lowest cost-paid e-Learning opportunity. Individual participation during
webcasts under a group registration does not accrue individual credit toward
the frequent learner program. Repeat group registrations for specific entities
(libraries, consortia, chapters, etc) are eligible for a complimentary group
webcast registration per the aforementioned restrictions.

Enrollment in the Frequent Learner Program is automatic for all individuals and
groups registering for ACRL e-Learning courses and Webcasts after Sept. 1,
2009. No additional signup is required. Complimentary e-Learning must be
redeemed within 18 months of the first course or Webcast. Frequent Learner
Program rewards are only redeemable for ACRL e-Learning opportunities and have
no cash value. ACRL e-Learning courses and Webcasts attended prior to Sept. 1,
2009, are not eligible for the Frequent Learner Program.

To redeem your complimentary e-Learning course, simply call (800) 545-2433 and
choose option 5 to speak with a representative from ALA Member and Customer
Service. Once your eligibility has been verified, you will be enrolled in the
course of your choosing based on compliance with the aforementioned
restrictions. Enrollments are non-transferable. Complimentary enrollments may
only be applied to ACRL e-Learning events (webcasts and courses) and cannot be
used toward conference sessions, pre-conference sessions, or other ALA Division
distance learning opportunities.
