Dear Friends and Colleagues: On September 30, 2013, I will be retiring from the Library of Congress after 31 years, all of them spent in the Hebraic Section of the African and Middle Eastern Division, the last 6 years as Head of the Section.
It has truly been a privilege to serve the research needs of Congress, scholars, and the general public during my tenure. It has been a pleasure to have been actively involved in AJL for so many years and in so many different capacities - as a past President of the Research Libraries, Archives, and Special Collections Division (2004-2006), Chair of the Judaica Reference & Bibliography Book Awards Committee, 2002-2004, Chair of the Travel Stipend Committee (1996-1998) and Co-Chair of the Convention Stipend Committee (2006-2011), a presenter and panel participant, and Co-Chair of the 35th Annual Convention that was held in Washington, DC (2000). I cherish the friendships that I have made through AJL and look forward to continuing to be in touch with all of you. My personal email is [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>.
