The Library of The Jewish Theological Seminary in conjunction with New York Archives Week is pleased to present a program on the
Johanna Spector Archival Collection A major repository of rare materials related to the dwindling Jewish communities of India, Yemen, Azerbaijan, Egypt, and Armenia, and of the Samaritan people- available to researchers and the public for the first time. Dr. Johanna Spector (z"l) was a professor of Ethnomusicology at JTS, and a world-renowned scholar, author, lecturer, and documentary producer. The evening will include * An introduction to the Johanna Spector Archival Collection, * A screening of Dr. Spector's film, Two Thousand Years of Freedom and Honor, * And a display of artifacts from the collection.
