Dear Fellow "NYMA-ers", In November I mailed Joy Kingsolver, AJL's archivist, a carton full of NYMA correspondence, flyers and such goodies, going back to 1994. 4 boxes of NYMA material had been carefully sorted through and arranged by a volunteer in new (purple) file folders. Several weeks ago I received a notice, along with part of the box top I'd sent, from the USPS. The notice read: "Please accept our Apologies for the Damage to your Parcel Shipment damaged by normal Machine Processing at our Facility." [The capitalization is odd and very German!]. I had not kept a record of what I'd sent, having practically mummified the box in packing tape. The USPS ate my record of NYMA's recent history.
So, my fellow NYMA-ers, it's up to you to fill in our history. It's easy to look up on the AJL website. Joy explains very clearly how to organize and submit your material. Liza Elizabeth F. Stabler Librarian Stettenheim Library Temple Emanu-El New York, NY
